Every day, more architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and owners specify Wells precast building components for their construction needs and with this continued success, we are looking to hire a motivated self-starting Manufacturing Plant Manager to join our team.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Plant Manager will oversee and manage the operation of the prefabrication and building assembly plant to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, and quality. The implementation of lean practices will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. This individual will be intimately involved in setting up this new manufacturing location for our organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Oversee all aspects of the assembly, including production, quality control, inventory management and logistics coordination.

  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies to eliminate waste, reduce lead times and improve overall plant performance.

  • Lead a team of supervisors, quality control and assembly employees, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across our entire organization, such as engineering, design, and supply chain, to optimize processes and enhance product quality.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPI's) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action.

  • Implement standard work procedures, visual management systems, and other lean tools to streamline operations and enhance productivity.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

  • P&L management and responsibility.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in lean manufacturing and construction.



EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Management, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a supervisor or manager, preferably in a manufacturing environment focusing on prefabrication and assembly.

  • Strong knowledge and practical application of lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Value stream mapping, Kanban, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Demonstrable excellence in management and financial acumen.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.



  • Possession of a valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment.

  • Visual acuity and ability to read small print.

  • Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others.

  • Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment; up to 50 lbs.

  • Mobility and ability to move around the facility as needed.
