The Coordinator of the Office of Clinical Practice will be the principal contact with students to coordinate field experiences and clinical placements for Credential Programs and Graduate Programs in the College of Education.
Advise and regularly communicate with students about field experiences and placements.
Facilitate placements for students in all levels (Clinical I, II, and III) of clinical practice.
Secure Clinical III placements for student teachers in 40+ area school district classrooms for approximately 1000 students per academic year.
Serve as a liaison between district representatives and CSULB Contract and Risk Management.
Administer a data management system that documents field placements, hours verification, student reflections, end of rotation evaluations, and final fieldwork evaluation.
Conduct informational sessions in-class, on-site, and online with students.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong oral and written communication abilities. Attention to detail. Ability to learn, interpret, clearly explain and apply a variety of complex policies and programs. Strong data management and technology skills (e.g., EXCEL, MS Office, database management software, survey software, and web-based programs and collaboration systems such as MS Teams).
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required. Experience with long-term project management or program coordination, including data reporting and technology implementation preferred.
Office of Clinical Practice
The targeted salary may be set as high as $4,620 per month based on experience.
