Position Information:
The purpose of this temporary/part-time Golf Shop Associate position and essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following:
  • Setup golf carts.
  • Wash golf carts.
  • Collects driving range balls.
  • Wash driving range balls.
  • Maintain pace of play on the golf course.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position will be located at one of our golf courses:
  • Jimmy Clay Golf Course (5400 Jimmy Clay Drive)
  • Lions Municipal Golf Course (2901 Enfield Rd)
  • Morris Williams Golf Course (3851 Manor Road)
  • Roy Kizer Golf Course (5400 Jimmy Clay Drive)
  • Hancock Golf Course (811 East 41st Street)

Work Location Notes:
  • Work location and assignments will be determined during the hiring process and will be at the discretion of the hiring manager.
  • May be required to work during special events, evenings, weekends & holidays.
  • Work schedule and location is subject to change based on department needs and programs.

  • If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

  • Physical Requirements: Tasks may involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying or using a force equal to lifting up to fifty (25) pounds. Work environment outside environmental conditions, extreme temperatures, and hazards associated with equipment operation including fumes, oils, gases and mists. Ability to adapt to a variety of conditions such as daily walking, climbing, standing, balancing, kneeling, stooping, running, bending, stretching and reaching. Must be physically and mentally able to communicate, respond and work with participant's needs and safety issues.

Pay Range
$15.00 per hour.

Days and Hours: Part-Time
  • Variable work schedule.
  • Days and hours will vary based on business need.
  • Occasional Evenings, Weekends, & Holidays may be required.
  • May be required to work during special events outside the normal hours for programming needs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working at a golf course.
  • Experience providing customer service to the general public, including greeting and directing visitors, and handling customer complaints.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other city employees and the public.
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location.
  • Possess a valid Texas Driver License.
