  • Provides support to end users for PC or server applications and hardware.
    • Has responsibility for a given workload; within that workload, manages schedule to provide the best, most efficient service possible.
    • Given general guidelines, determines priorities.
    • Provides “after hours” support on a rotation basis.
  • Handles problems independently and ensures resolution.
  • Interacts with network support, applications support, and/or programming support to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem.
    • Meets with the server team, client team and network team weekly to discuss common issues and share information.
    • Participates in ad hoc teams to discuss and work toward resolution of specific, complicated issues, as needed.
  • Analyzes, simulates and/or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
  • Recommends modifications to reduce user problems.
  • Maintains currency and high level of technical skill in field of expertise.
    • Independently seeks opportunities to gain further technical knowledge in the field.
    • Provides training to others in areas of expertise.
  • Performs technical and administrative work in the installation of new and existing personal computer systems, terminals and associated hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoots and replaces hardware as needed.
  • Reconfigures equipment.



Associate’s degree in computer science, math or engineering, or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.


Two to four years of PC and/or network experience preferred.


Skills in working in an open system environment and including the following: Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite applications, Terminal Emulation software, Internet Browsers, Novell Network, Active Directory, Ethernet, and IBM AS/400.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Good customer service skills.

Good scheduling/time-management skills.

Good problem-solving skills.

Certifications are a plus
