Position Summary (Classified as Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt I) Under general supervision of the Director, the incumbent conducts funding searches and initiatives; works with PIs in the development, submission, and acceptance of grants and contracts; keeps current on eligibility requirements of funding agencies, along with their regulations and policies to help ensure compliance. The Grant & Contract Specialist will also assist in the implementation of research compliance, including support of the IRB, IACUC, and UAS/UAV committees, as well as assist in the implementation of the Student Engagement in Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (SERSCA) program. Minimum Qualifications *Education: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. *Experience: Minimum of three years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. Preferred Qualifications *Master's degree involving a thesis/project. *Experience in: prospecting funding sources; initiating, writing, editing, and submitting grant and contract proposals, including the proposal narrative, project budget, and supplemental proposal documents; maintaining currency with and addressing funding agency eligibility requirements and compliance issues. *Demonstrated success in searching for relevant funding opportunities. *Demonstrated success in developing, writing, editing, and submitting grant and contract proposals. *Demonstrated success in proposal budget development. *Demonstrated working knowledge of federal, state, and private funding agency compliance issues. *IRB administration, IACUC administration, and other research compliance administration. *Demonstrate excellence in oral and written communication skills. *Demonstrated expertise in using a computer, including excellent skills in Word, Excel, and Access. *Demonstrated expertise in using federal, state, and private funding agency online submission platforms. *Demonstrated working knowledge of techniques for information searching through electronic retrieval systems (i.e. internet) and verifying sources. *Demonstrated capacity for working successfully in a fast-paced deadline-driven office, with the capacity to prioritize in an environment with competing simultaneous demands. *Demonstrated capacity to be attentive to details on high-stakes projects.
