Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Patient Business Services Supervisor is responsible for assigned staff. Oversees/supervises workflow, monitors productivity and plans, coordinates and delivers system training and resolves system problems. Researches and provides updates on compliance/regulatory standards and JCAHO compliance. Develops/ oversees QA & QP&M activities and supervises Quality planning and monitoring.
Assists designated manager in the day-to-day operations of assigned area including problem/conflict resolution involving PBS staff, other departments, patients and physicians. Serves as a key resource to management in this area.
Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare, or equivalent experience required.
Three to five years experience in Patient Business Services in a health care environment including experience in admitting, insurance verification, billing, collections, electronic billing systems, and customer relations required.
Proven ability to supervise staff.
Proven ability in QP&M and CQI techniques.
Proven ability to develop/provide training programs and oversee training process.
Proven ability to analyze, change, and enhance workflow and work processes.
Effective verbal and written skills.
Ability to independently schedule meetings and maintain daily and monthly routines.
Ability to develop and implement goals and objectives for self and others.
Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret data.
