Job Summary
Job Summary
MDH is recruiting a passionate and performance driven professional to support tribal nations and non-profits in managing and implementing their state and federal grant funding for home visiting services. If you are committed to improving the lives of pregnant women, infants, children and their families, taking an active lead in reducing health disparities, and driving innovation and synergy in systems that impact maternal, child and family health, then come join our MDH team.
This position is responsible for providing professional support in the planning, management, and implementation of family home visiting state and federal grants to tribes and non-profits for healthy development, self-sufficiency, and safety of families with infants and young children. This position supports the Family Home Visiting Section's mission of providing statewide leadership and public health information essential for promoting, improving or maintaining the health and well-being of women, children and families throughout Minnesota.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Applicant must meet the minimum qualifications to be routed for consideration.
  • 2 years of professional experience planning, developing, and implementing maternal and child health programs with tribal nations or non-profits
  • Administration of state and/or federal grants
  • Establishing and maintaining working relationships and strategies, including facilitating oral and written communication with internal and external stakeholders on public health matters
  • Experience eliminating health disparities and advancing health equity through culturally competent and sensitive equity-centered strategy development in a diverse, multicultural and multi-lingual work environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in public health, family health, or related field
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to health and social services relating to the position
  • Demonstrated project leadership and management skills
  • Experience working in or closely with tribal nations, or non-profits
  • Experience with evidence-based home visiting models or other evidence-based direct service programs for families
  • Experience evaluating and monitoring technical assistance needs of grantees and providing technical support
  • Experience organizing and synthesizing material from diverse sources into comprehensive plans/reports
