The current vacancy is in the Alcohol & Drug Services (ADS) Division at the Health and Human Services Agency.
The Mental Health Counselor - Licensed/Registered Associate position in ADS will split their time between the ADS offices (located at HHSA's South Campus) and the Probation offices (located at the Department of Corrections in Downtown Napa). This unique position requires the ability to conduct intake assessments, formulate clinical diagnoses, and conduct groups and individual counseling sessions for adult clients with substance use disorders. This position will also work closely with the ADS Utilization Review Coordinator to conduct documentation review (for services provided by the County, as well as services provided by subcontractors). Due to this, experience in Medi-Cal or Drug Medi-Cal service documentation is preferred.
Conduct clinical intake assessments at ADS, Probation, or in-custody with new program participants to obtain information relative to their request for therapeutic services.
Collaborate with correctional departments regarding coordination of assessments and appropriate linkage.
Support Utilization Review in auditing charts/reviewing clinical documentation to ensure standards are met including intake documentation, initial assessments and reassessments, treatment plans, progress notes and discharge documents.
Collaborate with correctional departments regarding client care and assessment outcomes.
Review and audit client's health records and deriving relevant data from this.

The Recruitment Process

1. Candidates that possess one of the required licenses will have their supplemental questions scored during the week of June 23, 2021.
2. Only the most qualified from the review of supplemental questions will participate in an Oral Panel Interview. Oral Panel Interviews are tentatively scheduled for early July, 2021. Human Resources will notify you via email to self-schedule yourself for an interview, if you qualify.
3. Only the most qualified candidates from the scoring of the supplemental questions and Oral Panel Interviews will be placed on the eligibility list and referred to the hiring manager for further consideration.
