Pay Range: $41,279 - $51,599 annual compensation

Standard shift hours for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:00AM to 4:00PM with a one hour lunch break. Occasional over-time may occur to address major facility emergencies that would warrant after-hour troubleshooting and/or response.

A Skilled Trades Tech I job is available with the City of Fort Worth Aviation Dept. at the Meacham International Airport Administration Building. The City of Fort Worth Aviation system is home to three world-class airports - Meacham International, Spinks and Perot Field. Both Meacham International and Spinks Airports provide regional aviation services for air charter, corporate, business and recreational flyers. Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport provides cargo carrier services. The airports feature full-service fuelers, multiple maintenance facilities, flight schools, on-site rental car facilities, and hotel facilities only minutes away. The City of Fort Worth Aviation Department is essential to the economic well-being and commerce taking place in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Minimum Qualifications:

• HS diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training in HVAC, electrical technology, or a related field.
• Two (2) years responsible experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and electrical systems.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of facility maintenance.
• Certificate in HVAC maintenance.
• At least 3 years of customer service experience.
• Willingness to complete a vendor-specific HVAC certification course within 6 months of employment.

The Skilled Trades Technician I job responsibilities include:

• Perform walkthrough inspections for Meacham Administration Building including HVAC, elevators, fire suppression and monitoring system, building generator, irrigation systems.
• Oversee janitorial services.
• Maintain records of Purchase Orders, equipment, supplies and contractor services.
• Oversight of supplies and maintenance for the Customs and Border Protection suite.
• Oversight of contractors completing repairs and modification to Meacham Administration Building.
• Solicit services from external and internal vendors needed for maintenance of the Meacham Administration Building.
• Monitor Building Automation Systems for HVAC and lighting controls.
• Investigate and resolve maintenance discrepancies with Meacham Administration Building.
• Participate and coordinate in safety tests and inspections associated with the Meacham Administration Building.
• Test safety equipment, electrical power supply, tenant area inspection, utility functions.
• Facilitate Conference Center events.
• Monitor, inspect, and maintain exterior grounds for Meacham Administration Building.
• Contact and schedule various vendors and contractors to support the building’s needs.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures and schedules for proper up to the Meacham Administration Building.
• Follow policies and procedures while executing facility work-orders.

Heavy Work - Depending on assignment, position in this class typically exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
