Position Summary:
The Route/Delivery Driver delivers a wide variety of cold dairy products to multiple customer locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Driving Company Performance
- Deliver cold dairy products to customers in an efficient, timely, courteous, and professional manner.
- Load or unload cases of product manually with hook, handcart or pallet-jack onto and off the truck. Ensure load is properly secured.
- Collect empty cases.
- Follow and comply with DOT regulations per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations handbook.
- Complete all daily DOT and customer paperwork including delivery tickets, pre and post trip inspections, driver logs, and vehicle service reports.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations during transport of loads on assigned route.
- Check load security prior to travel and make any adjustments as needed.
- Collect money from customers and record transaction on receipts.
- Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork, and turn in documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
- Resolve customer complaints.
- Maintain a valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement and current DOT medical card. Per Company and/or DOT regulations, report any moving violations to management immediately.
- Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

Qualifications:
Required
Preferred
Work Experience
0-1 year of experience, training is provided.
One (1) year of experience driving with a CDL.
Education
High School diploma or Equivalent
Technical Knowledge
- Clean driving record
- Maintain CDL Class A or Class B
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to write legibly to complete paperwork
- Basic Math skills
- Follow and comply with all safety standards

Physical Demands and Work Environment :

- This position operates in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environment with moderate noise, sometimes slippery floors.
- Temperatures range from 34-120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Employees are required to wear PPE provided by the company that is in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Employees may experience swings in work-related demands of this position.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to drive, stand, walk, kneel, lift and bend for virtually the entire shift.
- The employee will regularly pull products and climb in and out of truck.
- Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to six cases on a hand truck (cases weigh 20 to 55 pounds).
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must have full range of body motion.
