Data Management Coordinator

This is a full-time Data Management Coordinator position in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh.

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing data management operations of local community implementations of the Family Check-Up model in partnership with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services (ACDHS). The community implementation of the Family Check-Up aims to improve outcomes for children and families living in Allegheny County through the provision of a strength-based home visitation model, Family Check-Up.

The community implementation of Family Check-Up includes provision of this model for families spanning from the prenatal period through early childhood and adolescence, with most of this working taking place for children ages 0-5 years. The Family Check-Up serves a growing number of families referred from multiple community sources, among them: Hello Baby (a program to proactively engage parents at risk for child home removal), birthing hospitals, WIC, Federally Qualified Health Centers, Family Courts, Family Centers, and Pediatric Clinics. Thus, the coordination of data and project management components is critical for the successful provision of services. Currently, the community implementation serves over 400 families, with ongoing referrals and anticipated expansion of services.

Preferred applicants will have a Bachelor's degree.

The candidate will be responsible for data management and coordination of data entry for new and existing referrals and will provide reports to the leadership team at the Center for Parents and Children and the data analytics team at ACDHS, and the data analytic team at the state (PA OCDEL). The candidate will be responsible for generating monthly reports that accurately reflect service delivery and basic needs goods that are provided for clients. Additionally, a significant portion of the candidate’s time will be spent refining and managing a large database designed to house Family Check-Up implementation and assessment data. The candidate will provide training in effective use of the database/data entry for service providers and will be available to troubleshoot as needed. Thus, duties will include the development of data manuals and protocols to support coordinated data tracking and management.

Specifically, the candidate will be responsible working with the data programming team to ensure the data’s integrity. The candidate should demonstrate exceptional organizational and leadership skills. They must also be experienced in navigating and using a large database and data processing programs (e.g., Access, Excel, SPSS, Power Point), and must be able to communicate the need for, and interpret, queries, reports, and data analyses generated by the data management team. The candidate will work closely with the Research Director, Center Co-Directors, and ACDHS data analytics teams to achieve these goals.
