Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking an intern to support our Credit Department team at the main office in Skippack, PA. The internship will last for 12-14 weeks from May to August or September 2024. The ideal candidate is hard working, quick to pick up new skills and apply new information, and enthusiastic about accounting and finance. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and/or business partners, applying what you’ve learned in class to various accounting activities.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs all work according to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Prepares, sorts, copies, and files invoices, correspondence, and other requested items
  • Audits invoices against purchase orders
  • Posts invoices into accounting system for payment
  • Balances monthly statements
  • Assists in monthly and annual closing
  • Provides daily payment information and totals
  • Assists with related special projects
  • Other duties may be assigned


Qualifications

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Actively enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited educational institution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
  • Able to work full-time during the upcoming summer of 2023

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Two years or 60+ credits towards the degree
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills (particularly Excel)
  • Experience with specialized accounting software
  • Previous internship or work experience in the construction or construction materials business
