Qualifications

We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings Engineering Team in Jacksonville, Florida.

At RS&H, we turn our "Clients" vision into reality with innovative, practical, engineering solutions for the largest Corporations and Healthcare Networks in the world. The position will work closely with our engineers and architects as part of a multi-discipline design team. Additionally, the candidate will complement our current team with RS&H client responsibilities. The candidate will be part of a team that serves clients in markets such as Healthcare and Office/Workplace primarily but also in Mission Critical, Financial, and Warehouse/Distribution.

Job Summary:

This position performs all conventional aspects of engineering design and development, including the planning and conducting of work requiring more advanced techniques. This position independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of engineering designs for projects of moderate size and complexity. Serve as Lead Project Engineer and/or Project Manager for our work in the Jacksonville Office. Coordinate project recommendations and work with our full-service team of Architects, Engineers and Program Managers. Help develop and hire a team of engineers for future growth. Mentor and provide leadership to junior Engineers on staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares project specifications, compiles, and analyzes relevant data, and prepares complete project documents, analysis, and reports
  • Analyzes and interprets data. Performs analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and limited design layouts
  • Designs a complete project, system, component, or process and prepares project documents, engineering analysis, and reports
  • Performs quality control reviews and ensures achievement of key milestones. Perform as-needed field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects to maintain and increase understanding of construction practices and design applications
  • Formulates and solves problems with timely and innovative solutions
  • Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances that are pertinent to respective discipline.
  • May provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff for project duration. May also manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams and ensure adherence to company and project contractual requirements
  • Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • 7+ year's of electrical engineering work experience in building design in an A/E firm
  • Currently holds PE license
  • Working knowledge of NEC and other NFPA codes
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2010 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience working on Building and site design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with REVIT
  • Ability to participate in business development, marketing, and client coordination
  • Financial, Workplace, Industrial, Healthcare or AHCA experience
  • Working knowledge with generators and UPS design
  • Experience with managing staff
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis
