Responsibilities

Our IT Solution Architects play a crucial role in overseeing, optimizing, and evolving the organization's information technology architecture. They blend technical expertise with a deep understanding of business needs to ensure that information technology solutions not only meet immediate needs but also align with long-term strategic goals and adhere to established architectural principles. As the IT Solution Architect aligned to Finance and a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, you will proactively and holistically lead and support enterprise architecture activities that guide the development and management of the organization’s finance-related information technology architecture. The role involves a deep understanding of business goals, objectives, outcomes, capabilities, value-streams, and business processes. Your scope of activity includes:

  • Interpreting Business Needs
    • Understand business drivers and capabilities (current and future state) and use this understanding to inform and guide solution architecture activities.
    • Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints and document solution architecture design and analysis work.
    • Work closely with application owners to ensure robust architectural runways that can support future business requirements throughout the product life cycle.
  • Assessing Technology
    • Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies, legacy and technical debt, and recommend solutions for improvement.
    • Analyze the technology industry, competitors, and market trends, and determine their potential implications.
    • Understand emerging technology trends and disruptions and their practical application.
  • Applying Technology
    • Lead the evaluation and of solution architecture, working closely with business stakeholders and product teams to develop and articulate solutions.
    • Work closely with program and project management to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is bring promised.
    • Collaborate with project and product teams to ensure the effective implementation of designed solutions.
    • Develop roadmaps for the evolution of the solution portfolio from current to future state.

  • Providing Enterprise Guidance
    • Provide deliverables (e.g., reference models, architecture designs, etc.) to support architectural governance and assess the impact of technology investments.
    • Support, guide, and help application owners, project teams, and product teams align with overall enterprise architecture governance and assurance.
    • Act as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes.


Qualifications

Skills and experience:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines.
  • Demonstrated expertise in finance-related domains with a comprehensive understanding of corresponding financial capabilities.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
  • Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends and practical application.
  • Solid understanding of product management, agile principles, and development methodologies.
  • Ability to support development teams and provide advice on opportunities, impact, and risks.
  • Demonstrated organizational savvy with the ability to navigate organizational politics with tact.
  • Skilled at influencing, guiding, and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision-making.
  • Strong ability to articulate ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the long-term and short-term perspectives of situations.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for creative and analytical problem-solving.
  • Ability to comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestic or international.

Education required:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, system analysis, or a related study, or equivalent experience.
