LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT INTERN SUMMARY: The Landscape Architect Intern will assist in conducting research, planning, design, and administration of projects for commercial and public clients by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Assists in providing landscape architectural services and/or design to Crafton Tull offices. Reviews rough sketches, drawings, and other data received to design projects.
  • Assists in planning the layout of projects, developing scopes of work, and integrating engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
  • Assists in preparing operational and regulatory reports as required by company policy and regulatory agencies and ensures all are submitted to meet deadlines.
  • Works closely with the Landscape Architects, Civil Engineer, Engineer Intern, Project Manager, support staff, and other team members to design projects
  • Ensures visibility of the company through attendance at public meetings, participation in civic organizations, and participation in public service and charitable activities.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Professional degree in Landscape Architect from an accredited college or university.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Pursing professional licensure.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial report, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publications that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebraic functions and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, Design software, Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record.
