Job Summary
The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a part-time instructor to co-teach the 2-semester aerospace engineering senior-level capstone design courses (
AER 411 and
AER 412). In these courses, student groups develop solutions to engineering problems that are of interest to the aerospace industry. Students are expected to demonstrate competence in design, analysis, systems engineering, project planning, communication, economics, ethics, and sustainability.
This part-time instructor position is for the 2024-to-2025 academic year (August 2024 to May 2025) with the possibility for renewal in subsequent academic years. The primary duties for this position are meeting with student groups to evaluate progress and provide direction (2 hours per week); holding office hours (2-3 hours per week); grading assignments, reports, and presentations; and assigning final course grades.
Applicants should hold at least a bachelor’s degree (with advanced degrees preferred) with at least one degree in aerospace engineering or a related field. Individuals with significant experience in the aerospace industry are especially encouraged to apply. A professional engineering (PE) license is desired but not required.
