Summary:

ITT Inc. is searching for a Project Manager to join their Motion Technologies division in Novi, MI. The Technical Project Manager is the lead technical liaison with customers. This position is responsible to lead and manage program expectations, timing, validation and industrialization activities coordinating with all ITT departments. Ensure testing is completed in time, perform data analysis, and report/review results with internal and external customers and stakeholders. The Technical Project Manager will need to have effective communication skills as well as a strong technical background. This position will be an integral part of the team creating a premier customer experience for ITT customers.



Responsibilities

  • Understand customer requirements and identify effective solutions
  • Provide technical, design, and product application guidance to meet customer needs requirements.
  • Lead industrialization activities for assigned projects coordinating with all internal departments
  • Manage design changes before and after start of production
  • Create and maintain a Design Verification Plan and Report with support of Application Engineer
  • Review and maintain design records (drawings, specifications, procedures)
  • Manage testing to complete product validation
  • Interface with customer engineers on a daily basis
  • Establish strong customer relationships, including the Engineering, Program Management, Testing, Quality, and Purchasing Departments.
  • Work proactively to find new opportunities by providing Engineered Solutions to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Interface with all ITT departments to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Conduct root cause analysis
  • Provide status reports to management
  • Identify and understand future trends and requirements
  • Observe and participate in external testing of ITT products


Qualifications

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing and product launch experience is strongly preferred
  • Up to 25% local and international travel is required
  • Knowledge of the vehicle brake system and testing is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions effectively.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels within and outside of the organization
