We have a great opportunity for a Licensed Pharmacist at St. Peter to provide pharmaceutical Support to our Direct Care and Treatment division. If you have an interest in developing your career in psychiatric pharmacy, this may be the next step in your career!

The hours of operations of the pharmacy are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday*.

Job Duties:
  • Oversee pharmacy operations and dispense drugs according to physician prescriptions
  • Provide pharmaceutical care services, including time spent dedicated to medication reconciliation and after care planning.
  • Manage inventory, supervise pharmacy technicians, and perform quality control checks on medications.
  • Ensure that the process for dispensing medications from the pharmacy meets all legal and accreditation/certification requirements, and complies with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards for the facility.
  • Serve as a consultant to medical and nursing staff to provide the most current information regarding drug therapies.
  • Deliver occasional presentations to educate staff and patients on pharmaceutical topics.

* This position will be expected to work a Saturday and Sunday once (1) a quarter from 7am-12pm. *

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in Minnesota
  • Two years of experience as a full-time pharmacist or completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing pharmacy services for individuals with mental illness, chemical dependency, and related or co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Proficient in data collection, entry, evaluation and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet experience or other equivalent programs.
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary teams.
  • Quality improvement training or experience.
