JOB SUMMARY

The IICAPS Director (Program Director) is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of community-based programs. The IICAPS Director (Program Director) works to develop and maintain strong relationships with funders and stakeholders for each assigned program, as well complete reporting as requested. The IICAPS (Program Director) also develops and implements new programming that is aligned with the program and agency vision. They will provide internal consultation and collaboration with programs throughout the agency as well as mentor and supervisor program staff.

IICAPS:

Seeking an IICAPS Director to provide leadership and oversight to a thriving and growing IICAPS department. Come and join our innovative team at The Village where we are expanding to meet the needs of the Hartford community. Responsibilities include supervision of managers and supervisors, as well as coaching, teaching and support of staff. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to pivot and adapt the department as needed. Responsibility for the program’s performance financially as well as successes meeting the model treatment goals. Formation of solid relationships with the model developer to coordinate consultation and training. Great relationship skills to work across other agency departments to bring about the best care coordination for our clients in an all-agency team approach. Must possess excellent clinical skills and expertise in crisis management. This role will also include some oversight of clinical staff in other departments such as our outpatient clinic for children and related projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for the supervision of program staff and others as assigned.
  2. Responsible for hiring, training and performance management of assigned programs.
  3. Maintains close working relationships with stakeholders and donors.
  4. Responsible for admissions and overall program leadership and performance.
  5. Ensure safe, trauma-informed programming for clients with adherence to best practices and required program models.
  6. Responsible for quality assurance, utilization review, public relations, and maintaining license and accreditation.
  7. Continuously monitors programs for improved service delivery.
  8. Communicates, coordinates, and collaborates with collateral agencies, including DCF, school systems, etc.
  9. Assists in developing yearly budget, control and monitoring of budget performance.
  10. Provides emergency outreach and support to programs.
  11. Provides on-site availability to each program.
  12. Promotes a positive milieu with a focus on providing and supporting learning activities for staff that include ongoing training, group and individual supervision and timely objective feedback on performance.
  13. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


    Experience and Skills

    EDUCATION

    • Master’s degree required.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Must have at least 5 years’ experience working with children and their families.
    • Experience developing and running programming and groups for children, families, and other caregivers.
    • Must have at least 3 years supervisory/management experience. Ability to lead and manage multiple programs and adapt supervisory style to support the professional.
    • Personal Characteristics: Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required. Must be a good team player and leader, is flexible in approach to job and others, insightful, self-reflecting and aware of impact on others, patient and empathic, shows good judgment in pressured situations.
    • Cultural Competency: Familiarity, sensitivity, and/or experience working with diverse populations. Sensitivity to the impact of race, gender, sexuality, culture, language, and spirituality on mental health treatment.
    • Physical abilities: Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations. These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the abilities to function safely in a therapeutic situation.
