Position Summary

Comtech Systems, Inc (CSI) is looking for an Engineering leader for our Troposcatter family of products. The ideal candidate shall oversee multiple delivery teams and the entire lifecycle from conceptualization, planning, delivery, and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Managing multiple engineering teams/programs.
• Managing department budgets.
• Designing engineering strategies.
• Verifying project compliance with engineering best practices.
• Hiring department engineers.
• Collaborating with Sales and Product Management to effectively maintain and articulate the product roadmaps.
• Collaborating with company stakeholders.
• Updating engineering policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Broad knowledge of the end-to-end SATCOM ground station, or Troposcatter (preferred), or Cellular RAN architecture from the physical layer through the application layer.
• Working knowledge with SATCOM waveforms like DVB-S2X and/or Cellular 3G/4G/5G.
• Working knowledge of RF system tradeoffs, link budgets, Multipath propagation, and signal processing algorithms for multi-carrier systems.
• Working knowledge of digital IF streams such as VITA 49.2, IEEE-ISTO 4900 Digital IF Interoperability Standard (DIFI) and/or eCPRI.
• Working knowledge of requirement definition, decomposition and compliance risk assessment utilizing trade studies, analysis, simulation, and lab data collection.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary, cross functional and matrixed teams.
• Strong communication skills and experience presenting to customers and senior leadership; ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of management and customers.
• Support Business Development activities including customer briefings, support and/or leading technical sections for proposals for large Government or commercial RFPs.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field.
• 15-20 year’s product development experience, out of which at least 5 years of experience in managing multiple complex engineering teams and programs.
• 10+ years of defining, analyzing, and validating wireless communication requirements spanning user data network processing through RF.
