The Network Engineer is responsible for the LAN/WAN environment including the development, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of on-premise and cloud-based solutions at Nicolet National Bank.

As a Network Engineer, you will:
  • Manage and provide support for Nicolet's LAN/WAN infrastructure including devices from Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto and other OEMs.
  • Develop and coordinate network design, modifications, implementations, and upgrades of all network systems at Nicolet Bank.
  • Responsible for network related disaster recovery elements including development, design, and testing.
  • Configure and maintain Microsoft Teams Phone with PSTN connectivity through Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Teams Calling Plans.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to voice services in Microsoft Teams.
  • Design and upgrade security equipment. Verify all security equipment is in place for continuous, uninterrupted processing. Review security applications for accuracy. This also includes designing, upgrading, and monitoring network perimeter security devices. Verify network firewall, virus scan software, URL filter, and Spam filter is up to date. Update devices to ensure compliance to network policy.
  • Review network procedures and policies and ensure network regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in project management and implementation of new systems, system upgrades, changes in procedures that are designed to make the network/applications more efficient.
  • Acting as an internal resource for problems or unusual situations encountered with network hardware and software.
  • Maintains professional contacts with vendors, research computer applications and equipment.
  • Keep current of technology changes and innovations to ensure the technology meets strategic needs.

  • Other related duties as assigned or requested.


Qualifications
  • 3 years LAN/WAN experience with increasing levels of responsibility required
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone with PSTN connectivity through Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Teams Calling Plans
  • Banking systems experience preferred
  • Two year tech school degree required
  • Bachelors in computer science or similar field or 5 years industry experience preferred
