Sr CAD Drafter, Denver, Colorado

Our company relies on proprietary software tools to offer a full suite of services, including energy procurement and demand management; solar, roofing, building envelope, and pavement assessment and maintenance; and LED lighting, HVAC/mechanical, and building automation systems design and implementation.

The Sr. CAD Drafter is responsible for high quality project design delivery which meets or exceeds the requirements of the contract agreement between Mantis and our clients. Your contributions will include producing plans and details for Architectural and Civil design project with a primary focus in commercial roofing and paved parking areas. The CAD Drafter is tasked with continuous development of an in-house CAD details library and serving as one of Mantis’ internal CAD experts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

CAD Drafting

Collaborate with Design team to prepare project plan drawings and specific construction details using AutoCAD for commercial building envelope.

Translating ideas, sketches & specifications into complete & accurate working plans. Prepare AutoCAD drawings for building envelope and pavement systems as needed. Develop, compile, and maintain an in-house library of CAD design components for roofs, building envelope, and pavement. Creates and executes project and CAD drawing delivery schedules and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Ensures design documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. Contribute to periodic design reviews to establish and ensure designs are up to Mantis design standards. Support external contract draftsman or junior draftsman as needed and required by increase in project work. Provide guidance and support to these teams to effectively communicate client and Mantis’ needs for quality and general design standards.

SURVEY DUTIES

•Design support will require conducting occasional onsite pre-design surveys.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree in Drafting & Design or related field (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)

3+ years of AutoCAD LT 2019 experience and/or related certification

2-4 years’ experience in Envelop Design (roofs and walls)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Engineering, Construction

Civil Engineering design experience (soil evaluations specific)

MEP Experience

Autodesk Revit experience

Commercial construction experience

ArcGIS experience

SpecLink experience

Historic restoration experience

COMPETENCIES

Proven aptitude to create high quality, professional CAD drawings for construction

Thorough knowledge of procedures involved with multiple phases of construction

Ability to read and understand contract documents, drawings and specifications

Strong attention to detail with focus on improving design outcomes

Well organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving

Ability to work with extended project teams including professional and craft employees, remote employees and subcontractors
